Jeff is an ordained minister with the Presbyterian Church in America and is credentialed with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2024 after 26 years of counseling military and civilian individuals, couples, and families. So, he is grateful to have helped hundreds suffering a full spectrum of spiritual, relational, and emotional concerns. Jeff has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion and a Master of Arts in History from Winthrop University, a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary, and a Master of Science in Counseling from Columbus State University. He is also in the final stages of a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling with Birmingham Theological Seminary.
He has a high view of the Bible as God’s "owner's manual" for Life in 66 love letters for you as an embodied soul for relationship with God and others. So, he listens for your core concerns and coaches you for practical actions in your relationships and daily duties.
The Army also certified Jeff in communication techniques, conflict resolution, relationship enhancement, personality differences, and more. His ten years overseas in Germany, Haiti, Iraq, Kuwait, and South Korea provide him with insights and skills for multicultural concerns. From 2015 to 2024, he served headquarters units with task-oriented duties requiring high security clearances. Those dynamics parallel challenges in Augusta’s medical, cyber-security, and corporate populations, and the related hardships of their family members.
Over the last twenty years, Jeff, his wife, and four children have successfully worked through challenges of being a blended family, multiple separations due to military deployments, invasive surgeries for back injuries, cancers, and aneurysms, and other traumas. All the above make his counseling empathetic, holistic, and practical.
Jeff and his wife, Lauren, married in 1995 and now live in North Augusta, SC. They have four grandchildren (so far), a quirky Doberman, and a Boxer “plus”. Jeff enjoys talking with Lauren about everything serious and silly, watching British mysteries, working out, playing guitar, and developing practical tools in biblical counseling to help others.
