Mary's heart for counseling began while serving in college ministry, yet it wasn't until several years later that she entered Covenant Seminary in St. Louis to pursue her Master's in Counseling. Since graduating in 2013, she has had the joy and privilege of working with individuals in a clinical approach that is thoughtfully integrated with a Biblical worldview. Her training at Covenant ignited a lifelong passion to view all of life—our struggles and pain, our hopes and fears, and our relationships with ourselves and others—through the lens of God's active and redemptive work in Christ. Because we are created in God's image, broken by sin, redeemed by grace, and ever moving toward glory, Mary approaches each client with a compassionate presence and an expectant hope in the Lord's healing work.
Mary has received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, deepening her understanding of how God designed the body and brain to heal from trauma. Integrating these approaches with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and other life struggles.
Mary enjoys recharging by wandering in nature, savoring good books, and spending time with family and friends. She attends First Presbyterian Church with her husband, Wes, and their two sons.
"The grace of God means something like: '...Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don't be afraid. I am with you. Nothing can ever separate us.'"
